Marshal (PVT) Investment Ltd (Mauritius), has obtained the authority from Fire Protection SA as an approved agent and the product has been certified by MSB (Mauritius Standard Bureau) in 2011 to treat thatch with fire retardant chemical. After treatment a warranty certificate for a period of 30 months will be issued.
Introduction
After 35 years of combined experience in the fire retardant industry, Fire Protection SA has developed a product that can be used on thatched roof to retard huge flames.
Only the test of time can tell what to use and what NOT to use as a retardant for thatch
This complicated formula has to comply to the following requirements in order to work:
(1) The chemical must not damage the cellulose of the Thatch
(2) The chemical must not significantly change the appearance color of the thatch.
(3) The chemical must provide adequate protection against huge fire.
(4) Protect the thatch against leakage.

Characteristics of Thatch Marshal 8000
It is white, and clear to a clear gloss
High quality polymers are used to fix the retardant. The retardant component used will not rot the thatch The treated thatch will retain their elasticity
It is water based product
It is non toxic and environmentally friendly
The correct volume is applied in order to prevent rotting of thatch

How it works
Thatch Marshal 8000 inhibits the spreading of flames, reducing the scale and reach of the fire.
Thatch Marshal 8000 also decreases the time of afterglow of the flame, thus making it more difficult for the fire to spread.
The binding effect of Thatch Marshal 8000 contributes to retard the flames.
